Good Day.  Below please find a summary of the key highlights from our October Board of Education meeting:

• Welcome Mrs. Lisa Gross, our new Superintendent
• Mrs. Gross shared an overview of the 2014-2015 teacher Professional Development plan, which will include PARCC training and resources
• Mrs. DaCosta provided an overview of the week of respect, nutrition council meeting, and upcoming ancient artifact presentation by 6th grade tomorrow
• Dr. Occhino explained the use of capital reserve funds for planned security updates such as classroom door locks, update to cameras, etc
• The Board approved:
  • Comprehensive Maintenance Plan and School Nursing Plan
  • Standard Solutions to provide PARCC training
  • Donation from HSA for more than $11k to be used for smart boards
  • Resignation of Denise DeMartinis and hiring of Diane Mai as her replacement, effective Nov 17
  • Unpaid medical leave for Patricia Baker through Nov 14
• The next Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 20 at 7:30pm in the Noecker Media Center
