Below please find a summary of the key highlights from our January Board of Education meeting ( short agenda ):

• A moment of silence was observed for the tragic loss of language teacher Patricia “Senorita” Baker, with condolences to her family and friends – she will be missed
• Mrs. Gross presented a brief overview of the HIB (Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying), receiving a perfect score, and EVVRS (Electronic Violence and Vandalism Reporting System)
• Mrs. Dacosta reported a successful Bingo night and recent meeting of the Diversity committee (overview & slides)
• The Board approved:
  • 2015-2016 district calendar
  • Substitute rate increase from $75 to $90 per day, to be more competitive with local market
  • Policies regarding leave for victims of domestic or sexual violence and electronic communication between staff members and students
  • Part-time literacy consultant to assist Kindergarten classes
• The next regular Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2014 at 7:30pm in the Noecker Media Center
