A Note from Raul Sandoval, Principal

The month of May is upon us! NJSLA testing has gone well thus far for our 5th and 6th graders.  I had an opportunity to check in with students after their testing sessions and they were in good spirits.  We have several days of testing that remain, including make-up testing.  Please remind your child to charge their Chromebook overnight and make sure they get a good night’s rest.  

This week is officially Teacher Appreciation Week.  At Noecker every staff member plays a critical role in the development of our students.  Teachers, aides, custodians, secretaries, specialists, and cafeteria staff are all part of what makes Noecker special.  For us, it is staff appreciation week.  To all of our staff, thank you for all that you do each and every day for our students and the community.  I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the HSA and parent volunteers for the VIP treatment of our staff this week (and always).  We can’t wait to see what’s in store for tomorrow and Friday!

Noecker Cares has been hard at work putting our last Spirit Week/Fundraiser together. Next week, May 9-May 13, will be centered around supporting our Caring Officer, Jordan's, Passion Project: Good Sports. 

Good Sports drives equitable access in youth sports and physical activity, by supporting children in high-need communities to achieve their greatest potential, on the field and in life. ( goodsports.org )

We are asking our Noecker families to consider donating to this great cause . 6th grade members will be meeting with Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade classes throughout the week to discuss the importance of this passion project and participate in a sports activity with them.

• May 5th, 6th - Grades 3&4 Math

• May 9th, 10th, 11th - Grades 3&4 ELA

• May 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th - Make-up testing

• May 23rd, 24th - Grade 5 Science

• May 25th, 26th - Grade 5 Science, make-up testing

A Note from Dr. Richard Celebre, Director of Special Services

Happy Wednesday - As we are in the midst of Staff Appreciation Week I wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank our amazing team of teachers, therapists, support staff and everyone in between that work so hard to ensure our students are successful here at Noecker. We are truly lucky to have such an amazing team of dedicated professionals here at Noecker.  

Looking ahead -   Parent/Administration Collaboration Parent Workshop - Transitioning to West Essex. Please see the attached flier with information regarding the upcoming Parent workshop on Monday, May 23rd at 7PM via Zoom . The workshop will be run by Ms. Tania Symmons , the Director of Special Services for the West Essex Regional School District. The workshop is being opened up to all of the sending districts and will be a great opportunity to collaborate with parents from across the districts. Registration and access to the pre-workshop questions submission survey are in the flier!
